This isone thing that I screwed up, but not too badly. I bought a new windshield gasket and windshield. Not willing to risk having some ham handed windshield installer ruin my new paint, I opted to install it my self. BIG mistake. I made mistake of trying to put the gasket around the windshield first. Couldn't get it to stay on. Then for some reason I can't remember, I thought it would go better if I cut the gasket in the middle. Bad move. I eventually got it in by using the nylon rope method, but found out later there was a better way. First of all, it's MUCH easier to install a windshield with the windshield frame already ON the vehicle. I was trying to install it before I put the frame back on. Secondly, I should have put the gasket in the windshield frame FIRST, and then let the bottom of the windshield in, later pulling the rest of the gasket out and around the windshield with the tool common to the trade. The real difficulty came in reinstalling the locking strip. I don't know how that could have been done any more easily, and it was a real bitch. I used a modified screwdriver and silicon spray, and it still took three hours.
